Amy’s background in teaching dance and gymnastics has taught her the importance of moving correctly in order to avoid injury and maximize one’s athletic performance, and she incorporates that knowledge and expertise in her classes.
When Amy first started practicing yoga, she was initially impressed with the positive physical benefits of yoga, but she soon learned that yoga is more than merely the poses.
Wanting to learn more, she earned her RYT-200 at Yogaja Yoga and has studied an additional 200 hours at It’s Yoga International to further her practice and extend her training.
As an athlete herself, Amy has enjoyed working with endurance athletes and weightlifters to leverage the benefits of yoga for performance enhancement.
Having a background in the medical field as a registered nurse, Amy has been able to offer yoga to individuals with a variety of physical needs, truly believing that yoga is for every body.
Amy teaches Power Yoga on Monday evenings at 7:15.
